Just a quick update – the trailer has not sold, although most of the furniture is gone so we are camping out on the floor for the next few days. We have lowered the price to below my conservative estimate for getting across the country but we will just eat and sleep on the cheap. We have a few buyers coming this weekend so hopefully one will leap at the chance to get a bargain and haul it away as soon as possible! My laptop just died (will not turn on at all) and we are about to pack up the desktop so this may be my last post until we reach Indiana and I can unpack it! I will try to send updates to friends via my phone so that they can post to the boxcarkids facebook page. Wish us luck!
*** PS*** We sold the trailer tonight! To a very nice couple (friends of a couple who saw the trailer last week) heading out to an off the grid life in Arizona. They will pick it up Monday evening. We’ll rent the uhaul on Monday and pack it up (and clean the trailer and disconnect everything) and then head out early Tuesday morning. The price was less than half the offer we had from the fellow who wanted to live in the park but couldn’t pass the screening) so we’ll be watching our pennies but we won’t have to sleep in the car!
BTW- I’ll be posting short updates by Twitter and longer ones if I can get computer access on the road.
